Principal's Corner

 

Greetings Central Middle School community, and welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! This is Mr. Ornelas notifying you how extremely excited and looking so much forward for the beginning of the school year!

Let's take a minute to reflect on what transpired and the accomplishments that were obtained this past school year. Here are some of Central MS highlights! 

• We came from a virtual world where our students learned and teachers instructed with many uncertainties and challenges. We came back face-to-face after the global pandemic for the first time and, with all of the hard work and dedication our teachers put in inconjuction with parent support, our students produced outstanding numbers in the academics! Outstanding accomplishment!  

• In the area of Fine Arts, UIL Academics and UIL Athletics, our students were able to reach unimaginable expectations! 21 district titles, record breaking number of division 1 ratings, obtain sweepstakes. That's just to name a few

• We were able to provide our students with a safe learning environment and improve our students’ social and emotional learning; for that, I commend all of our staff as it took a team effort for such accomplishment! 

Our teachers grew extensively professionally, and I am confident that together we will continue to thrive, all for the betterment of student success.

School safety, parents, will continue to be a top priority for our students, faculty, and staff. We will continue to encourage the implementation of safety procedures brought in by the global pandemic. Unfortunately, our country continues to have challenges regarding school violence. We will be scheduling drills with local law enforcement so rest assured we will do everything possible to be ready for an improbable event.    

Incoming 6th Graders!!!  We have scheduled our famous Puma Camp for August 3, 2022 starting at the Performing Arts Center. Thank you in advance for all of the fine art sponsors, supporting staff, and administration in making this event a memorable one! Parents, please make all efforts for your son/daughter to attend!  It will be fun!!!

In regards to registration, parents please make sure you have your son/daughter register online.  You can just go to the district website at www.wisd.us We will set up our gym on Tuesday August 2 and Wednesday August 3 to assist New to the District or anyone having difficulty with registration.

I ask all parents to follow us on social media (Facebook, Instagram, and Tweeter) to keep abreast of the most current campus information.
